REVIEW: Magic Kingdom’s An Orange Bird Christmas

REVIEW: Magic Kingdom's An Orange Bird Christmas IMG_4260

An Orange Bird Christmas made its debut at last year’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Found in Adventureland at Sunshine Tree Terrace, the photogenic treat made quite the splash. It’s made its return to Magic Kingdom for the 2020 holiday season, and is available this year for all park guests to purchase, so naturally, I had to try it for myself.

The official description of the citrus-based treat lets us know that it’s an “orange-scented white chocolate mousse filled with orange curd.” This dessert is the complete opposite of the rich and decadent Yuletide Wishes treat found at Pinocchio Village Haus. While Yuletide Wishes is a wonderful fudgy and chocolatey dessert, An Orange Bird Christmas is just as wonderful, yet is light, creamy, and cool.

While the description says that the middle of the treat contains orange curd, it’s less of a traditional curd, and more like a pudding. Nonetheless, it’s good; the flavor is bright and is quite delicious. The white chocolate layer adds a different, welcomed note to the citrusy flavors.

The treat sits atop a small piece of spongecake, has a candied exterior, and, of course, a white chocolate, Santa hat-wearing Orange Bird tops the whole thing off. The white chocolate piece is more for looks than taste, and I’m completely fine with that. Give us Orange Bird fans anything with that sweet little face on it, and we’ll be happy campers.

All in all? I highly recommend that you add this treat to your Walt Disney World holiday snack list. At $5.99, you’ll get a tasty and light snack that’ll also have you snapping a ton of pics in an effort to capture its incredible cuteness.
