The Best ‘First Rides’ for Kids in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

We are back with Part Three of the Best ‘First Rides’ for kids in each of the Disney theme parks. This week, after already working through your best options in Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, we are focused on Disney’s Hollywood Studios. If this park is the first stop of your first visit to Walt Disney World, your kids are going to love these rides as the perfect introduction to their Disney experience.

Slinky Dog Dash

Toy Story is a franchise that is close to the hearts of many Disney guests. Most kids that are coming to Disney will recognize these characters as well as the storyline to be able to feel the excitement of walking into their world. A great first attraction for kids is Slinky Dog Dash, a mild outdoor rollercoaster that has excellent visibility to keep things light and fun rather than dark and potentially intimidating.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway

Say hello to your classic Disney Characters like Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse on Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Join all your friends, including Donald Duck, Goofy, and Pluto, as you embark on a slow-paced, zany adventure that will introduce your children to the creative and unique world of Disney Imagineering.

Toy Story Mania

Back to Toy Story Land, where the original attraction, Toy Story Mania, will bring your family together with your favorite Pixar Characters for a few rounds of arcade games and fun! 3D glasses keep you feeling immersed in the experience as you swirl around from one game to the next, competing against each other for the highest score.

Disney Junior Dance and Play!

This one isn’t your typical ride attraction, but the Disney Junior Dance & Play experience is not to be missed if your kids are fans of Disney Junior! Enjoy the show with singing, dancing, and adventure as your younger ones get up and moving with Disney Junior stars like Doc Mcstuffins and Vampirina.

Alien Swirling Saucers

We are heading back to Toy Story Land because, well, it’s an awesome place to enjoy some rides with your family. This time, it’s straight to the Aliens Swirling Saucers, where the kids can join their favorite little green aliens and swirl through the galaxy. This attraction has a slightly more chaotic feel to it as you jolt from one side to the other, but the kids will love the unpredictable feeling of swirling side to side.
