Walt Disney World in December is a beautiful time to visit. The weather has finally cooled off, the sun is shining, and the theme parks and resorts have been decorated for the holidays. I love to view the decorations at the resorts.
If you would like to view several of these displays it is just a short resort monorail ride around the lake to see them at the Polynesian, Grand Floridian, and Contemporary Resorts. I started at the Polynesian to check out their Christmas tree.
The Christmas tree is beautiful with all the colorful orchids on the tree.
It was a beautiful day so we decided to walk to the Grand Floridian. There is a nice path along the lake and before you know it you are at the Grand Floridian.
The Gingerbread House at the Grand Floridian is always a favorite with our family. This is the 17th year for the house. There is a shop on the back side that sells gingerbread treats and other snacks.
There is a limited edition print to commemorate the 17th anniversary. You can purchase it (limited edition) in the gift shop.
There is a PhotoPass photographer to take your picture by the Christmas tree.
We then boarded the monorail to the Contemporary Resort. This year they have a sand castle for Anna and Elsa from “Frozen.”
Take a few moments to go outside on the balcony and watch the monorails.
After we viewed the holiday displays we decided to have lunch at the Contempo Cafe. You order at the register and they bring the food to your table.
If you are looking for something fun to do when you visit Walt Disney World I highly suggest taking the monorail tour. The displays will be up until New Years Day. Til next time, See you in the parks!
