Thanksgiving is the perfect time of year for reflection. Reminding oneself of how fortunate we are to have the things we do and the people we care about is an important part of the holiday season. Whenever my family and I celebrate a special occasion, I take time to share my gratitude for the people we are so lucky to have around us. I find that intentionally shifting focus from the chaos of the silly season to what we all have to be thankful for always leaves everyone feeling lighter. Unfortunately, not everyone is as fortunate, and that is where The Walt Disney Company steps in. Tomorrow, in Central Florida, Walt Disney World cast members will be serving up more than 1000 meals today for Thanksgiving to those less fortunate.
One of our traditions at Walt Disney World is providing warm Thanksgiving meals to Central Florida residents who are without a home and experiencing hardship. It’s something we’ve been doing for over 25 years now!
This year, 15 Disney chefs are preparing the meals for more than 1,000 individuals and families at Coalition for the Homeless and Harbor House of Central Florida. And tomorrow, on Thanksgiving Day, Walt Disney World cast members will serve the meals directly to residents at The Coalition.
