Everyone knows planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be time-consuming. For some, it’s a passion project to work out all the details, but for many others, planning a Walt Disney World vacation can feel daunting. We know at The DIS that your vacation should be a time of relaxation and family bonding.
When I was a child, I would sit with my mother and work out the details of our Disney vacations and one of the biggest issues we had after choosing our dates, booking flights, and choosing a resort was deciding which park to visit on which day! We checked the weather, we checked available FastPasses, we checked dining availability and anything else we could think of to figure out what order to visit the parks. I decided, “I should just share my thoughts with the world on my research,” so I created the Weekly World Forecast.
Every Thursday I will be posting an updated forecast to project which parks I believe will be the best to visit on each day of the upcoming week. I am basing my findings on currently available FastPasses, weather projections, ride closures, ticket prices, Extra Magic Hours (which are sometimes better to take advantage of and sometimes better to avoid), and anything else that might seem relevant at the time — so you can adjust your trip last minute to reflect the current forecast.
As always, if you find this forecast helpful and you’re ready to plan your next trip, head over to Dreams Unlimited Travel to get a free, no-obligation quote on your next Walt Disney World vacation from myself or any of our other Travel Specialists.
Friday, May 25 – For Friday, I think EPCOT is the right choice. The Flower and Garden Festival has been going for like, 18,000 days this year and is finally coming to an end this weekend. It’s a must see if you are going to be at Disney but, it is incredibly crowded and the biggest issue here is going to be locals. Visitors will go regardless but, with Memorial Weekend this weekend, it’s the last chance for locals to go and when we get off work on Friday, we will probably plan to go Saturday, Sunday or the final day on Monday. You will want to beat this crowd and then avoid Epcot the rest of the weekend.
Saturday, May 26 – Saturday is a good day to do Magic Kingdom. It will be crowded, but everything will be crowded for Memorial Day. It is going to rain a lot of the day, but it won’t be thundering and lightning like the other days will be, which means the Happily Ever Fireworks will still happen. If you are only coming for the weekend, this is the best chance to see the fireworks.
Sunday, May 27 – Hollywood Studios will be having Galactic Nights on Sunday for Star Wars. Epcot will be in the home stretch of Flower and Garden Festival. So that just leaves Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. While, both will be crowded, I believe people will go to Animal Kingdom the day before because of Extra Magic Hours so I will suggest Animal Kingdom for Sunday. The park will be open from 8am until 11pm so no matter what the crowds are, you SHOULD be able to ride everything.
Monday, May 28 – With Galactic Nights being the day before, I would suggest Hollywood Studios for Monday. A lot of people will probably do this same thing, but the weather is going to be terrible on Monday, so that is a good reason as well to do this park. Happy Memorial Day!
Tuesday, May 29 – Tuesday is a perfect day to go to EPCOT. Anyone who was going to do the Flower and Garden Festival did it yesterday or the weekend. For the first time in forever, things should be back to normal at EPCOT and you should take advantage of the fact that there will be less crowds.
Wednesday, May 30 – I know I usually have people avoid Extra Magic Hours, but Magic Kingdom will be open until 11PM tonight for regular guests and that is a really long park day! I would take advantage of the long park hours for these dates because the crowds might be down from Memorial weekend being over and kids not being out of school yet. This is the calm before the summer storm.
Thursday, May 31 – I would suggest Animal Kingdom for today. There will be thunderstorms at night so this will likely get Fantasmic! cancelled over at Hollywood Studios and that is worth seeing. The day time should be really nice which is good for the Kilimanjaro Safari. So it’s an all around good day to do Animal Kingdom and avoid any weather related mishaps.
