When you are visiting Walt Disney World, you’ve likely already accepted that a lot of your time will be spent standing in queues. While your wait time for many attractions might be long, the ride itself is often a much shorter experience. When traveling in the summer, when the elements make conditions even more tiring and uncomfortable, it’s not uncommon for guests to need a bit more attraction for their wait time, often seeking out longer experiences. The opportunity to sit down and rest in the air-conditioned attraction is especially helpful in the midday heat, so we wanted to give you a better idea of which are the longest rides to enjoy in each of the parks that offer a longer respite from the harsh conditions of the day. Here are the longest rides in Walt Disney World to take a break and enjoy without bringing your schedule to a screaming halt.
Magic Kingdom:
- Carousel of Progress: 20 minutes 45 seconds
- Tiana’s Bayou Adventure: 11 Minutes
- Enchanted Tiki Room: 10 minutes
- The Hall of Presidents: 21 minutes 35 seconds
- Haunted Mansion: 7 minutes 30 seconds
- “it’s a small world”: 10 minutes 30 seconds
- Jungle Cruise: 9 minutes 5 seconds
- Liberty Square Riverboat: 12 minutes 45 seconds
- Mickey’s PhilharMagic: 12 minutes
- Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor: 11 minutes
- Pirates of the Caribbean: 8 minutes 30 seconds
- Walt Disney World Railroad: 20 minutes
- Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover: 10 minutes 4 seconds
While some of these are shows rather than rides, the list at Magic Kingdom is longer than most, with some high-profile rides making the list as well. The newest addition to the attraction list, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is one of the longest E-ticket rides in the park, matching its earlier version, Splash Mountain, at a whopping 11-minute ride time, which makes the long wait to enjoy it a bit easier to endure.
EPCOT:
- American Adventure: 28 minutes 30 seconds
- Circle of Life: 19 minutes 20 seconds
- Impressions de France: 18 minutes
- Living with the Land: 13 minutes 50 seconds
- O Canada!: 18 minutes
- Reflections of China: 12 minutes 30 seconds
- Spaceship Earth: 15 minutes
- Turtle Talk with Crush: 15 minutes
The EPCOT list remains shorter than most, with most of the attractions making the lineup presentations in the World Showcase pavilions. For the lengthiest ride, definitely visit Living with the Land or Spaceship Earth.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios:
- Beauty and the Beast Stage Show: 30 minutes
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance: 18 minutes
- Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular: 30 minutes
- Muppet Vision 3-D: 17 minutes
- Disney Junior – Live on Stage: 20 minutes
Again, with this location, many of the longest attractions are stage shows and performances. Note: The Beauty and the Beast Stage Show is the first on the list; great for a chance to sit down and relax, but also set in an open-air theatre, so this one offers less of a respite from the heat. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is the stand-out attraction in length at this park, integrating staggered areas of the ride to prolong the experience without standing in a set queue.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom:
- Festival of the Lion King: 30 minutes
- Kilimanjaro Safari: 18 minutes 30 seconds
- Up! A Great Bird Adventure: 25 minutes
- Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!: 30 minutes
Though Disney’s Animal Kingdom is on the verge of a huge makeover, specifically in the re-imagineering of DinoLand USA, the current theme park attractions offer a few longer options, notably the Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo: The Big Blue … and Beyond. Both are excellent shows, and the air conditioning in the Finding Nemo Theatre is my all-time favorite for sensory reset in warmer conditions.
