Now that most airlines are charging passengers for checked bags, the amount of carry-on bags has increased dramatically. Several airlines have decided to work with this trend and are buying new planes with extra space or are redoing their planes' overhead bins to accommodate the extra bags. Delta, United, American and US Airways are all changing the design of their overhead bins to add more room for the popular rolling bags.
Boeing is currently building new 787 Dreamliners and 737s that have bins with curved doors to fit 9x14x22-inch rolling bags in wheels first, instead of sideways. Some of the new planes will be able to fit up to 48 more bags.
These four airlines bring a lot of traffic to Orlando, being the second (Delta), fifth (United), sixth (American) and eighth (US Airways) largest commercial carriers into the city.
