It's hiring season again for the theme parks in Central Florida. SeaWorld
and Walt Disney World
are all looking to hire workers, both to fill positions for the busy summer months, as well as permanent positions.
SeaWorld is planning to hire 300 people; last summer there were only 150 open jobs. SeaWorld spokeswoman Christine O'Neal said, "These are positions of various levels, they include seasonal positions part time positions certainly, some full time and entry level leadership and also some salaried and professional positions."
Universal is hiring more than three times that, with 1,000 jobs available for summer and part-time employment. With openings in everything from attraction operations to food service, seasonal jobs at the theme park range from $7.75 to $10.75 an hour.
Disney is also in the market for new hires, looking to fill hundreds of positions across the resort. Jobs range from housekeeping to performers.
Such an increase in hiring can only mean that the theme parks are gearing up for what could prove to be record-breaking numbers in attendance.
