Consistently recognized for its philanthropic efforts, Walt Disney World is giving $1.5 million in grants for Central Florida children. 59 organizations across the region will benefit from the "Helping Kids Shine" grants, reaching up to 70,000 children. Walt Disney World officials are surprising the organizations with the money this week, all of whom are known for their work with children. A team of 15 people selected the recipients; the committee was made up of teachers, leaders in the community, government officials and Disney cast members.

Orlando Repertory Theatre is one of those recipients. The group works with young people to stimulate their creativity in the arts, music and theater.
