NASA may be taking a cue from Pixar in the near future, designing a spacesuit that resembles the one worn by Buzz Lightyear. The Z-1 Prototype Spacesuit and Portable Life Support System 2.0 was made by the David Clark Company and was named one of Time magazine’s inventions of the year. A rear-entry port on the suit allows astronauts to dock at shuttles and space stations without an airlock. Revisions to the suit will most likely be made by NASA before the spacesuit is first used in 2017.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, "Disney and NASA have joined forces to develop hands-on educational activities and exhibits centered around the character's (Buzz Lightyear) fictional voyage to, and 450 days spent living inside, the International Space Station." The new program is designed to interest kids in space travel.
