Downtown Disney at
Walt Disney World will be taking some cues from its sister location at
Disneyland. To add something for the boy crowd,
RIDEMAKERZ will allow guests to customize radio-controlled vehicles. Guests can choose their car's body, wheels, rims and sound effects. This store has grown in popularity at Disneyland and this companion store will open March 25. This is planned to be a temporary location and will be open through the fall.
D Street will open on the West Side and offers "edgy" clothing for both men and women. Urban inspired designs will be featured, but with a Disney twist. In addition to clothing, guests will be able to find pop culture items, Vinylmation, artwork, and accessories. This store will open in April and is also going to be a venue for local artists to feature their Disney art.
A change coming to an existing location is the upgrade of an auditorium at the
AMC Pleasure Island Theaters to an Enhanced Theater Experience(ETX). This is the first of its kind in the U.S. The screen will be 20 percent larger than the current screens and feature 3D technology. The digital projection will offer a better picture than HD. This upgrade will be in place in time to screen the new Alice In Wonderland film March 5th.
