The pampered porcine pet of a Hagersville, Ontario couple is hoping to catch the eye of Disney execs.
"Miss Minnie Piggie" sports a unique Mickey Mouse shaped birthmark and has become a popular attraction at county fairs. Its owners, Brett and Nancy Chamberlain bought the pig last year when they saw the Mickey icon.
The Chamberlain's are hoping that their prized porker will be purchased by Disney. Inquiries made with Disney's legal team by the couple regarding a potential sale have gone unanswered. One condition, the pig will be given a good life and never be put to death.
Miss Minnie currently weighs 700 pounds and her weight could go as high as 900 pounds. The swine is kept away from any other animals and is fed cracked corn and high quality pig food.
Minnie is the third pig known to bear the distinctive Mickey markings, all of which were born in Iowa. Chamberlain contacted one of the other pig's owners only to learn that he had it slaughtered. Chamberlain commented "He was an old farmer with an old farmer's mentality."
The couple are planning on bringing Miss Minnie Piggie to the Florida State Fair as "She needs to meet her public."
