The Walt Disney Studios will now have the distribution rights for
Iron Man,
Iron Man 2,
Thor and
Captain America: The First Avenger. The movies previously belonged to Paramount, but the two movie studios, along with Marvel Studios have agreed that effective June 30, 2013, rights will transfer to Disney. Paramount was paid for this exchange, and they will continue to honor any existing commitments for distribution.
Marvel was purchased by Disney in 2009; Disney then purchased the distribution rights to
The Avengers and
Iron Man 3 from Paramount in 2010.
