Disney XD plans Spiderman TV show

Disney has announced plans for its first project using the characters from its recent Marvel Entertainment acquisition. "Ultimate Spiderman" will premier as a new series on Disney XD in Fall 2011. The storyline will revolve around Peter Parker at high school age. Eric S. Rollman, president of Marvel Animation, says, "Ultimate Spider-Man will be a unique journey exploring our favorite web-slinger as he teams up with other fan favorite Marvel Super Heroes in never before seen stories with a new life filled with great challenges, new friends, intense action and character growth."

The show is based on the comic book series of the same name by Brian Michael Bendis, who is not currently involved with the new show.
