Cheesecake Factory Express leaving Downtown Disney
by Leah ZanollaMar 26, 2008
The Cheesecake Factory Express is not renewing its contract with DisneyQuest, bringing their ten year assocation with the Downtown Disney arcade to an end.
Initially, the Cheesecake Factory Express was going to be the food venue for DisneyQuest arcades which were to be built across the nation. When this plan did not materialize, the Cheesecake Factory was left with the single 'express' location.
In May, Disney will begin operating its own "FoodQuest", similar to the existing facilities. It is hoped that the 55 employees laid off by Cheesecake Factory will be able to find employment at the new Disney operated venue or at other Cheesecake restaurant locations.
Disney continues to deny ongoing rumors that DisneyQuest will be replaced by a Downtown Disney ESPN Zone.
