by Leah Zanolla
Jul 10, 2012

The France Pavilion in Epcot will be celebrating La Fete Nationale (Bastille Day) on July 14 from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm. The holiday celebrates the first republic of France beginning after the fall of the monarchy in 1789. Guests at the Walt Disney World theme park will be able to talk to the cast members that day to learn about the history of the day and the country of France. A special Discovery Experience will be available; guests will receive an award certificate when they complete the experience. Kids of all ages can visit the pavilion's Kidcot Fun Stop. In France, the day is commemorated with a military parade on the Champs Elysees, dancing, contests and fireworks.
