The Indy Racing Experience is opening at Walt Disney World on November 17.

Guests will be able to either drive the custom two seat Indy car or ride in the backseat around the one mile paved Walt Disney World Speedway oval track.

Co-owner of the Indy Racing Experience Scott Jasek stated "Since we first began the Indy Racing Experience (2001), fans have traveled the globe to feel firsthand what it is like to race around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway - the Racing Capital of the World. Millions of people also descend on the Orlando area annually for its renowned attractions, including Walt Disney World, so we feel our Indy Racing Experience is both a unique and fitting addition to this exciting landscape.'

Disney's track hosted the Indy Racing League's Indy 200 from 1996-2000. Davey Hamilton, who was part of the opening ceremonies for the Disney racing series, will be a driver for this new experience. Hamilton commented "The Walt Disney World Speedway was actually home to my first IndyCar Series race, so obviously that track is special to me and I'm anxious to get back there. Disney is a unique design that is different from any other track out there. It's not your typical oval or tri-oval; the corner banking and elevation change in the back makes this track a thrill to drive."

Both the Richard Petty Driving Experience and Indy Racing Experience will be sharing the track on a first come, first serve basis. Drivers are required to be at at least 18 years old.
