Alleged molestation incident at Typhoon Lagoon
by Leah ZanollaJul 6, 2009
In yet another reminder that while it may be known as one of the "happiest places on earth," Walt Disney World and the surrounding area is not somewhere your guard should be let down; a 51-year-old man is facing molestation charges following an incident at Typhoon Lagoon this past weekend.
A 15-year-old girl claimed the suspect pulled off her swimsuit and touched her inappropriately not once, but twice during her time in the wave pool. The girl and her father contacted park security and despite heavy crowds, Robert Chester Double Jr. was located and arrested. Unfortunately, the incident that led to his arrest may not have been his only offense. Authorities were made aware of a male, whose description matched Double's, groping others in the wave pool that same day. According to the Orlando Sentinel, the Typhoon Lagoon incident was the fourth sexually related case at an area water park in a three week span.
