Universal Studios theme parks announced this morning that the third quarter was marked with a decline in attendance at their resorts in Orlando, California and Japan. Theme park operating profits were down 14 percent, but Universal was able to offset the declines with cost-cutting operational measures.
Universal Orlando saw attendance fall 14 percent from the same time a year ago, but the resort was still able to raise profits by 29 percent, mostly due to cutting the operating costs by 17 percent.
