Sea World now owned by Anheuser Busch InBev
by Leah ZanollaNov 18, 2008
With the now complete $52 billion purchase of Anheuser Busch by Belgium's InBev, Busch Entertainment, operators of Sea World and Tampa's Busch Gardens theme parks, is now part of "Anheuser Busch InBev."
Last week Anheuser Busch shareholders approved a $70 per share offer which then cleared American regulations.
On November 20, Anheuser Busch InBev will be traded on the stock market under ABI. The newly merged companies will convert Anheuser Busch's St. Louis headquarters into the main office for its North American operations.
While negotiating with the shareholders, InBev indicated that it may sell the Busch Entertainment division to help finance this purchase. There are currently 10 theme parks operated by this Florida based sector of Anheuser Busch. It remains unknown if InBev is going to divest itself of the theme park business.
