On this last day of 2012, a couple that visited Disneyland
all 366 days of the year was honored in a very special way.
Jeff Reitz and Tonya Mickesh made it their goal to visit the Anaheim, California theme park every day in 2012. The couple was welcomed today in front of Sleep Beauty Castle by Tom Staggs, Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman. They were designated as "honorary citizens of Disneyland" and were also surprised with a stay in the Disneyland Dream Suite. Staggs stated, "Jeff and Tonya have an affinity for Disney Parks that is shared by many of our guests, and I wanted to take the opportunity to congratulate them on reaching this milestone. During this momentous year, their dedication to the Disneyland Resort is a testament to why we continue to expand, grow and share the Disney Parks experience with guests around the world."
Every visit begins with a meeting at the Mickey and Friends parking structure before entering the park. They've kept each day's parking stub as a chronicle of their exciting 2012, but the media has been keeping tabs on them as well. The Orange County Register
checked in with the couple numerous times throughout the year, having first written about them in April. Since then, the pair has said cast members have gotten to know their names and have even suggested they apply for employment at the park, which Reitz has said he is considering.
