Third-quarter earnings reports were released on November 2 by
Universal Orlando's parent company Comcast Corp. Revenue for the theme park is up to $393.5 million, a gain of 8.2 percent. Spending at the
Wizarding World of Harry Potter continues to rise, one of the reasons the company is citing for the financial gain. Even though operating income at Universal Orlando increased by 9.3 percent to $138.8 million, the net profit took a hit due to a debt restructuring fee of $45 million. Because of the fee, the net profit dropped 20 percent to $78.2 million.
There were no specific attendance figures reported, but the company did say that attendance had remained stable. Universal said now that NBCUniversal owns 100% of the theme park, they will not report attendance in the future.
