Just last week, Disney Parks announced they enjoyed a 10 percent increase in revenue in the first quarter of their fiscal year. Not far behind, Comcast Corp. (owners of Universal Orlando ) have reported a 4 percent increase in theme park revenue. This increase helped Universal Parks end 2011 revenues a staggering 24 percent higher than the year before. As for reasons behind the increase, the story remains the same: executives credit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Florida and King Kong in California. While there were various costs associated with Comcast becoming full owners of the Universal Orlando parks, the Orlando Sentinel reports that operating cash flow was up 41 percent for 2011.
