More details have been released about the upcoming ABC television special, “The Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60,” including the host, performers, and an interactive way to watch from home.
Derek Hough (Dancing With the Stars) will host the special which will feature footage from the Disneyland Resort and the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. Guests include Witney Carson (Dancing with the Stars), Josh Gad (“Frozen”), and Sir Elton John, who filmed musical performances in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle.
During Sir Elton’s performance and throughout the show, viewers can access additional content and experience colorful light shows on the Disney Applause app for iOS and Android, which offers a second-screen, interactive experience.
Additionally, Harrison Ford (Han Solo in “Star Wars”) is set to give viewers a preview of the Star Wars-themed lands coming to both Disneyland Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida.
The 2-hour special will be broadcast Sunday, February 21 at 8pm (EST/PST) on ABC.
