I recently wrote an article listing all the different vegetarian options at Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. Now it’s time I try some of these items that stood out to me. In that article, I listed which food items I was most excited to try: the Frushi, the Impossible Korean Short Ribs, and the Mediterranean Flatbread. These three caught my eye because I have seen great reviews for each food item, especially the Mediterranean Flatbread. Let’s get into these tasty food items!
Mediterranean Flatbread
The Mediterranean Flatbread can be found at Tangierine Café: Flavors of the Medina. The flatbread cost $5.75, which I thought was a fair price for the amount of food you get. The flatbread is made with Za’atar, Artichokes, Olives, Mozzarella, and Feta Cheese. The mozzarella and feta were the first things I immediately tasted when I took my first bite. I love Mediterranean food, so I love all the bold flavors that are part of the cuisine, and I think this dish has well-rounded flavors that even picky eaters could love. The artichoke pieces were large; I didn’t mind because I love artichokes, but I would skip this dish if you aren’t a fan. The Mediterranean Flatbread was the best thing I had on this Epcot day, and I will be getting it again.
Frushi
The Frushi can be found at that Outdoor Kitchen Hanami outside the Japan pavilion. This dish is one of the more expensive items at the festival; it is $7.00 and brings four pieces. The dish consists of strawberry, pineapple, and cantaloupe wrapped in Sweet Rice and Pink Soy Wrap with Whipped Cream, Drizzle Berry Sauce, and Toasted Coconut. The dessert was very refreshing and sweet. I didn’t taste any of the toasted coconuts, which disappointed me. If you enjoy fruity desserts, then you will love this. This is an excellent treat for a hot Florida day, but I’m not sure I’d pay $7.00 again, at least not this year.
Boneless Korean Short Ribs
The Boneless Korean Short Ribs is located at the Trowel & Trellis Outdoor Kitchen Hosted by Impossible, near Disney Traders. This dish costs $6.75, which may seem pricey, but they give you a lot of food. The Short Ribs come with Cilantro Lime Rice, Danmuji Slaw, and Kimchee Mayonnaise. This dish is heavy and warm, which is not great to eat on these hot days. I loved the flavors, but it was so hot out that I couldn’t finish the meal. Part of me wished they would serve this dish during the colder months because I feel like this would be a perfect meal to eat on a chilly day while walking around World Showcase.
Overall, I had a great time trying these different vegetarian items on my most recent trip to Epcot. I can’t wait to return and try some of the other vegetarian offerings they have at the festival. Next, I want to try the Tostada de Chorizo, the Avocado Toast, and the Potato Pancakes. Maybe I’ll squeeze in a dessert on my next visit or a fun drink that the festival offers.
