Act Your Age At Walt Disney World

In many ways, Walt Disney World allows adults to escape the complications and struggles they face in the real world. It is one of the beautiful things about going to the parks, but with that said, adults need to still act responsibly. As an adult coming to Walt Disney World you are allowed to forget about your bills, your job, and your responsibilities at home, but it doesn’t excuse you from the rest your duties of being an adult.

Treating cast members and the guests around you with respect is important. If you have a legitimate concern that has you upset, then talk with guest relations about it. Yelling, or even physically fighting with a cast member, or another guest, isn’t the way adults should be acting in the most magical place on earth. Being calm, collected, and sensible when talking with a cast member about a problem is a much better way to get the problem solved. Even if the cast member isn’t acting like an adult, getting angry with them won’t solve your problem. Simply look at their name and hometown, and walk away from the situation, and report it to guest services.

Walt Disney World does not allow you as an adult to make irresponsible choices like sneaking your small child onto a ride they aren’t tall enough to ride. Sadly, this has happened before. Once a mother was stopped by cast members at Space Mountain as she was trying to sneak her infant child underneath her sweatshirt. The height requirements are there for a reason, and that reason is safety. If you are not responsible to look after the safety of your own children, then you don’t deserve to be in Walt Disney World. Mistakes can be made, but blatantly disregarding the rules is just irresponsible.

Clean up after yourself. Throwing trash on the ground isn’t just irresponsible, but it is gross. Treat the parks like they are your backyard. Adults who are so irresponsible that they can’t bother to walk to a trash can to throw away a napkin don’t deserve to be in Walt Disney World. This is something that adults do all the time in the parks because they believe, “that’s what the custodial cast members are here for.” Custodial cast members are there to clean up accidents, spills, and overflowing trashcans, but they aren’t there to clean up after irresponsible adults. Cleaning up after yourself should go without saying, but sadly a lot of irresponsible adult guests struggle with it.

So be carefree, and enjoy your vacation, but don’t be an irresponsible jerk just because you’re on vacation.
