New Star Wars Rebels augmented reality game available for purchase at Disney

Together with Lucasfilm, Disney Floral & Gifts has introduced a new “Star Wars Rebels Interactive Adventure”. Like other gifts from the Disney Floral Department, guests will need to purchase this online or by phone (407-WDW-GIFT). This game is available at Disneyland too – online and by phone (714-781-GIFT).

The catch? This “game” costs an outrageous $499.99!

The description says that an Imperial recruitment banner will be placed on your hotel door, so when you walk up, your kids will realize that the Empire was there trying to recruit them to join. Inside, the Rebel Alliance has left their mark and kids will find gear and tech to help them complete their missions. According to the photos, this appears to include a blanket, Imperial Security Officer Disguise, light saber, Imperial Security Satchel, Journal, tattoos, Medal of Bravery, and a Holocron. If you have more than one child completing the missions, you can add on extras of any of these items. For an additional fee, of course.

The augmented reality game will be played through a smartphone app, beginning at the Star Tours attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Ezra Bridger, from Star Wars Rebels, will lead you through the mission, which will be completed both in your Disney resort room and at Star Tours. Once played at the parks, the game can be played over again at home.

The “Star Wars Rebel Interactive Adventure” is available beginning August 15.

Leah grew up in a little farming town in Illinois, right on the Mississippi River. Her Chicago-born husband, David, left the city for her, and they're now raising their three children (Jacob, Jonah and Lydia) just 12 miles from her hometown. As the Senior Editor of the DIS (wdwinfo.com), Leah spends a lot of time writing about, reading about, and discussing Disney. So, it should come as no surprise that one of her family's favorite ways to spend time is going to Walt Disney World and traveling on Disney Cruise Line. She also enjoys shopping, watching movies with her husband and doing crafts with and for her kids.
