It’s no secret that the Disneyland Hotel is among my very favorites, and when Disney Vacation Club announced that they were adding a brand-new tower, I was thrilled! As a DVC member myself, as well as being someone who doesn’t enjoy seeing old things demolished and replaced by new ones, I knew I could wrap my head around it without feeling bitter.

Earlier this month, I had my first opportunity to stay in this glorious new tower, and I’m even more in love with the Disneyland Hotel now than I was before. I only spent one night in the room, but my pixie dust meter was filled with all the magic I could ever have wanted just from that short stay. Each of the towers at the Disneyland Hotel has a name. The tower with the lobby is the Fantasy Tower, then you have the Adventure and Frontier Towers. I love that the DVC tower is named the Discovery Tower, because there are so many wonderful things to discover there, especially if you’re a Mary Blair fan like me!
Did you know that you do not have to be a Disney Vacation Club member in order to book a stay in these villas? Back in the years before I became a DVC member, I didn’t realize that non-DVC members could stay in the DVC resort hotels.
In this article, I will walk you through the Deluxe Studio I stayed in; however, please note that there are also Duo Studio, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, and 3-bedroom Grand Villas available here.

Each of the seating areas in the lobby of the Discovery Tower is set up like a little mid-century living room. Just look at those orange wingback chairs! I love the shape of the coffee table and the small table between the chairs is just the cutest thing and I want it. How about the huge area rug giving off all the Mary Blar vibes? I love it!

In case you aren’t aware, each floor of the Discovery Tower has its own theme. I was excited when I got off on the fifth floor to see that my floor’s theme was Disney’s Sleeping Beauty.

Each villa door is surrounded by glittery Disney characters. I love how subtle this touch is. It doesn’t detract from the gorgeous artwork that fills the hallway, but it’s a statement all on its own. If you look closely, you can see all the sparkles between the characters, and what’s more, these glow as it gets dark outside, almost as if they’re lit up.

I can’t gush enough about how much I loved my room. From the moment I stepped inside, I was completely enamored by all of the beautiful touches throughout the space. From the curvy branches you can see in the wallpaper above to the shape of the full-length mirror, it was all perfect.

Since I was in a Deluxe Studio, I had a kitchenette, complete with REAL dishes, a microwave, a mini fridge, a coffee maker, and a full pantry. While I didn’t make full use of it during my short stay, I was glad to have seen it and take note for my next visit.

One of my favorite things was the Mary Blair-inspired artwork that surrounded the TV. I felt like there was a piece of the “it’s a small world” attraction right there in my room and it was fabulous.

These little purple stools were just perfect and I loved that they could be tucked away under the desk when I wasn’t using them. I like a very neat and tidy room when I’m away from home, and these thoughtful pieces of furniture made it easy to keep things clutter-free. I also loved how each of the seating options had a bold color, from the yellow couch to the turquoise bench seat and purple stools, it was so fun!

I always love a good, old-fashioned pen and paper near the phone, and just as you’d expect, the set here was the cutest with the little design around the notepad. I always appreciate the Disneyland “D” on anything and everything too.

The bed was as comfy as could be with the most adorable night tables on either side. I really appreciate that Disney has the two nightstands in most of their hotel rooms now, especially when my husband is traveling with me. Even though there are knobs on these making it look like there could be drawers, they’re just for show – no drawers. The little space under the top was perfect to set all the things that were charging on, so I could still keep my water bottle and coffee mug right there. There were standard outlets in addition to USB and USB-C outlets on both sides, which was great for charging all those Disney vacation essentials I had with me.

The beds have plenty of space to store your luggage underneath, and the area rug here was one that I’d like to have in my own home. I absolutely LOVE that it says, “Once Upon A Dream” on the rug right at the foot of the bed.

Here’s what the view looked like from my room. You could say that I loved every moment of being able to soak that in.

The grounds of the Disneyland Hotel are so beautiful to explore; be sure to walk around and check it all out on your next visit. I was crossing a little bridge when I noticed this view of two of the towers surrounding the pool.
