Earlier today, we learned that the opening date for The Perch, a new lounge at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, is November 10, 2025. But that was only part of today’s grand news. Disney also confirmed that another beloved location in the resort’s lobby, the Garden View Lounge, will finally reopen in early 2026 after a lengthy closure and refurbishment.
The Garden View Lounge has been a sentimental favorite among many Walt Disney World guests over the years, especially those who loved its afternoon tea service, floral-themed ambiance, and relaxed setting overlooking the resort grounds. While the space has remained closed during the multi-year redesign of the Grand Floridian lobby and guest areas, Disney has now shared that the lounge will not only return but will also feature an updated atmosphere that aligns with the refreshed look of the resort’s iconic main building.
According to Disney, the new design will complement the reimagined lobby, which has been undergoing phased enhancements aimed at brightening the space while preserving the Victorian elegance that defines the resort.
The reimagined Garden View Lounge will introduce a new tea experience featuring “whimsical Disney touches for guests of all ages.” While full menu and service details have not yet been released, Disney’s wording suggests that the tea offering may be more interactive or themed than before.
Many fans have expressed excitement over this return, as the lounge previously hosted the Disney Princess Tea Party and classic British-style afternoon tea. Whether these experiences will return in familiar form or be reintroduced with updated storytelling remains to be seen.
The Grand Floridian has been undergoing a thoughtful, multi-phase transformation to update guest rooms, dining locations, and shared spaces while maintaining the resort’s signature turn-of-the-century charm. With The Perch opening later this month and The Garden View Lounge reopening soon after, the resort is gradually stepping into its next chapter.
