How Much is TOO Much to Spend on a New Disney Pin?

Hey friends, it’s no secret that I’m a lover of Disney merch. I live and breathe this stuff, spending hours every week bringing you all of my favorite hits (and a few of the most confusing misses) because I love finding ways to bring one of my strongest passions, the Disney Parks, into my everyday life. Practical homewares and apparel always hit that sweet spot for me, adding little touches of Mickey magic to otherwise mundane tasks, such as cooking dinner or writing out the week’s schedule. From my Minnie Mouse pens to my Disney measuring cups, these little moments of magic make everything feel a bit more special.

Of course, I can’t forget about my collections. For me, it’s Minnie Mouse Ears, more pairs than I’ll ever publicly admit, and I love displaying them in my office and picking which ones make the cut for each trip. But one of the more common collectibles is a Disney pin collection, filled with personal favorites that mark milestones and special occasions celebrated in the parks. Whether you collect the annual releases like Thanksgiving or the holidays, or prefer the rare limited editions, adding a new pin to your board always feels like a small victory.

This year, Disney Pin Trading has gone into overdrive. With the 25th anniversary celebration, we’ve seen more limited edition releases than ever before, and new drops are flying off shelves in record time. The designs are more elaborate, the demand is higher, and the pin world feels more exciting than it has in years. But with that excitement has come something else: rising price tags. Which brings me to the question of the week: How much is too much to spend on a Disney pin?

What prompted this question, you ask? The new Santa Mickey Mouse and Friends Jumbo Holiday Pin – Limited Edition, which is currently available in a run of just 2,000 for $64.99. Yes, it’s jumbo-sized at 4 inches tall by 3 inches wide, but does that really justify the hefty price tag? For me, that feels like quite the leap for a single piece of enamel magic.

So I’d love to hear from you, our seasoned Disney pin collectors, what’s your limit? How much are you willing to spend on a single pin before it crosses from must-have collectible to ‘maybe I’ll just admire it online’? Let me know if you think Disney’s new Jumbo Holiday Pin lands on the right or wrong side of that line.
