A brand-new nighttime spectacular will light up Disneyland Paris as Disney Adventure World officially opens on Sunday, March 29, 2026, ushering in a new chapter for the resort’s second park.
At the heart of this expansion is Adventure Bay, a central hub built around a large lagoon that will transform each evening into the stage for “Disney Cascade of Lights.” The new show blends water, light, and technology in a way Disney has not done before, combining fountains, projections, water screens, pyrotechnics, and hundreds of drones.
This show uses the lake itself instead of a traditional stage. The performance unfolds across the water, with fountains and lighting acting as the “performers.” For the first time in a Disney Parks nighttime show, aquatic drones will also be part of the experience, gliding just above the surface to create a more immersive connection with the audience.
The story centers on a familiar but powerful idea: heroes. Not just the Disney characters guests know and love, but the idea that anyone can find their own inner hero. That theme carries through the entire production, shaping both the visuals and the music.
We’ve seen Disneyland Paris use drone technology before, but this show takes things even further. These new aquatic drones were specially designed to handle moisture and operate near pyrotechnics, adding a new layer to the storytelling that brings the action closer to guests standing around the lagoon.
Music also plays a major role in the show. An original song titled “We Can Be Heroes,” recorded at Abbey Road Studios, along with a selection of well-known Disney songs that highlight key moments in a hero’s journey. Tracks from films like Mulan, Hercules, Moana, and Zootopia are woven throughout the show.
With its mix of new technology and familiar storytelling, “Disney Cascade of Lights” is designed to be a signature nighttime experience for Disney Adventure World.
