Ten years ago, our Disney lives changed forever. Before that, our ears had never heard the infectious earworm Let It Go, and we’d never seen a Disney love story based on a sister relationship. We had never known that we were about to fall in love with a summer-loving snowman named Olaf. Ten years later, Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff, and Sven became household names that children all over the world aspired to be like. The story captured the hearts of Disney fans, new and established from the first day it opened in 2014, and the characters have gone on to be some of the most popular in Disney history.
Almost instantly, there was a high demand for Elsa and Anna to begin appearing in the Disney theme parks, and when they did make their first appearances, fans waited hours in line just to get a few precious moments with the sisters that inspired them. Years later, Walt Disney World is still enjoying the Frozen Ever After Attraction in EPCOT’s Norway Pavilion, which was a re-imagining of the previous ride Maelstrom. The addition to this area of the park fits in seamlessly and has increased the popularity of the World Showcase end of the park quite dramatically.
The film and its sequel went on to inspire new areas of Disney theme parks all around the globe, with the most recent addition being World of Frozen, opening in just a few days within Hong Kong Disneyland Park. The new space will attract Frozen fans looking to walk through the gates of Arendelle and explore the township where Anna and Elsa live.
