Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival is happening now through April 27th! This annual celebration of California-inspired cuisine includes 8 Festival Marketplaces with over 40 menu items, music performances, themed character meet and greets, and special merchandise. The menus feature a wide-range of flavors, fresh ingredients, California wines, and new takes on classic recipes.
To help narrow down your must-have list of menu items, here are some of our favorites from the first day of the festival!
Golden Dreams
Musubi Fried Rice brought to you by Disney Vacation Club – AULANI Resort-inspired steamed rice with egg, glazed spiced ham, Unami mayo, and furikake – $8.75
The Musubi Fried Rice is a substantial dish with plenty of ham and egg perfectly matched with the Unami mayo and crunch of the furikake. The flavors all work together so well and we found ourselves not wanting to share this one!

Watermelon Cucumber Mojito – white rum, watermelon liqueur, mojito and cucumber syrups, watermelon puree and lime juice, topped with Topo Chico, and garnished with a watermelon gummy, and Tajin rim – $19
The Watermelon Cucumber Mojito tastes just like a refreshing watermelon candy that is balanced with the Topo Chico and spicy Tajin. This is a great cocktail for a sunny California day.

LA Style
Carbonara Pizza – white sauce, Nueske’s applewood smoked bacon, and black pepper drizzle – $8
While the ingredients may seem basic, the richness of the white sauce with the smoky bacon is so so good. The Carbonara Pizza is sure to be a crowd pleaser for both the picky and adventurous eaters.

Mercado de Antojos
Torta Ahogada – braised pork carnitas and frijoles charros with pickled onion and salsa – $9.25
The Torta Ahogada is incredibly hearty and comforting. The base of frijoles charros with the salsa verde soaks into the bread and the large portion of pork. You could definitely share this one or eat it by yourself for a solid meal.

Cafe de Olla Tres Leches Cake – Cafe de Olla-infused tres leches topped with piloncillo, Chantilly, cinnamon, and a Mickey-shaped cookie – $8.25
The presentation of this tres leches cake is so good! The sweet Chantilly with the cinnamon and coffee-soaked cake makes for a perfect bite each time. The cake is somewhat similar to a tiramisu and would be amazing with a cup of coffee.

California Craft Brews
Chicharron Nachos – chorizo, cheese sauce, tomatoes, and salsa verde – $9
The presentation of the Chicharron Nachos is a little confusing and not completely appetizing but is totally delicious. Shake the cup to blend it all together and plan to eat it with a fork. The chorizo gives it a surprising amount of heat that pairs well with the salsa verde. There’s plenty of the cheese sauce and in a perfect world, we would drip the crispy chicharron into the chorizo cheese dip.

Uncork California
Mickey-shaped Macaron made with Snickers Bar Pieces – chocolate Mickey-shaped macaron filled with caramel ganache, made with Snickers bar pieces – $9
The Snickers macaron is quite dense! In fact, it looks like multiple macarons stacked on top of each other. The chocolate macaron topped with chocolate would be good by itself but when paired with the chewy Snickers pieces and caramel ganache, it’s perfect. This is one we’ll be dreaming about until our next visit to the DCA Food & Wine Festival.

Studio Catering Co.
Asian Street Burrito – Korean marinated beef, kimchi fried rice with bacon, Gochujang cabbage salad with almonds and toasted ramen, topped with Gochujang aioli – $14.49
This is a serious burrito with an incredible mix of flavor and texture! The beef is tender and flavorful and the kimchi fried rice with the Gochujang aioli would probably be good by itself. The Asian Street Burrito is a full-size portion so plan to share it if you’re wanting to try the other Festival Marketplaces.
