A head-on crash near Disney’s Animal Kingdom sent 11 people to the hospital on Saturday, May 14, 2016. Around 6:00pm, an SUV driven by Megan Hester-Villalobos was headed south in the northbound lane of Sherberth Road and collided with a bus. Both vehicles “burst into flames,” according to Florida Highway Patrol sergeant Kim Montes.
Hester-Villalobos, 36, of Groveland, and her husband, Jesse Villalobos, also 36, were in serious condition at Osceola Regional Medical Center. She also saw a little boy crying while being treated by emergency workers.
An investigation is ongoing as to the reason the SUV was in the wrong lane. The Villalobos’ son told police that his mother had fallen asleep at the wheel after being at Disney all day.
