Disney Cast Members from Polynesian Luau Included in Layoffs

As we shared last night, the Walt Disney Company announced that they are laying off 28,000 cast members due to the continuing effects that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on their business.

Among the laid-off are the folks from the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show. With the non-DVC side of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort remaining closed until the summer of 2021, this may not come as a surprise to most, however, a lot of folks who attend the show are not necessarily staying at the Poly.

Additional cast members who have been affected include those from the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra and Yehaa Bob who has performed at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside for 23 years.
