Disney Designed Pulse Memorial Run Medal

runDisney produces thousands of medals a year for their extremely popular race weekends. For the first time ever, Disney has produced a medal for a race that they weren’t hosting. That race is the Third Annual CommUNITY Rainbow Run, which honors the victims of the Pulse nightclub shootings.

The OnePULSE Foundation reached out to Disney hoping they’d say yes, and sure enough, Disney stepped up. Will Gay the design director at Yellow Shoes, which is Disney’s in-house advertising agency said, “It’s an honor to design these medals. Our guests love to collect these things.”

The medal says “We will not let hate in.” Angel wings with 49 tips are etched into the medal to represent those passed away. Steve Carsella who designed the medal said, “This medal is about a celebration. It’s not meant to be somber. It’s meant to be uplifting. I want the medals to reflect that.”
