The NBA is undergoing a 3-year trial where teams will be able accept companies as uniform sponsors. It only makes sense, then, for the Walt Disney World Resort to partner with Orlando’s home team, the Magic. This collaboration won’t only affect uniforms, as special perks for Walt Disney World annual passholders will also be involved.
In 2010, Disney became an Orlando Magic Champions of the Community partner. Now, you will be reminded of the relationship between the two companies every time you watch a Magic game. The Disney logo will be emblazoned on the front left shoulder of each Magic player, thanks to Disney’s uniform sponsorship.
If you happen to be an annual passholder, and a Magic fan to boot, you have a few things to look forward to during the next few seasons. First off, passholders will have a special seating and hospitality area for upgrades during select games at the Amway Center. Since you are there for a game anyway, why not take the opportunity to renew your annual pass right there, or even at the Orlando Magic Team Shop. If you decide to renew your pass or purchase a new one at Amway, you will receive a new Orlando Magic jersey complete with the Disney logo.
President of the Walt Disney World Resort, George A. Kalogridis, said of the team-up, “At Walt Disney World Resort, we naturally believe in all things magic and are happy to support our hometown team. This long-term relationship symbolizes our shared focus of solidifying Orlando as a world class city for sports.”
