Disney Springs makes plans to celebrate the holidays

Disney Springs is making plans to celebrate the winter holidays and has some new events in the works.

New this year is the Festival of Holiday Trees. The Disney site says guests can “Wander through an enchanted wonderland and marvel at a stunning collection of custom-decorated trees. Each one has been designed to capture a popular Disney theme.” The pathway will begin near the play fountain outside Once Upon a Toy. There will also be a nightly tree lighting ceremony in this same location.

Santa will be greeting guests in his Chalet from November 14-December 24. From December 25-December 30, Santa Goofy will take over while Santa is out delivering toys around the world. Santa’s Chalet will be open from noon-10:0pm and is across from Ghirardelli Ice Cream and Chocolate Shop. You can check in and then get a pager so you don’t have to wait in line. Photos with Santa are included in Memory Maker packages.

A holiday-themed DJ dance party will be held in the Once Upon a Toy fountain play area. This will include games and activities for children.

All throughout Disney Springs, guests will find holiday entertainment, including toy soldier and snowflake stilt walkers, pop carolers, acapella groups and more. This will take from place 6-10pm on November 13, 2016-January 8, 2017.

Oversized toy sculptures will be placed all around Disney Springs for photo ops.

Leah grew up in a little farming town in Illinois, right on the Mississippi River. Her Chicago-born husband, David, left the city for her, and they're now raising their three children (Jacob, Jonah and Lydia) just 12 miles from her hometown. As the Senior Editor of the DIS (wdwinfo.com), Leah spends a lot of time writing about, reading about, and discussing Disney. So, it should come as no surprise that one of her family's favorite ways to spend time is going to Walt Disney World and traveling on Disney Cruise Line. She also enjoys shopping, watching movies with her husband and doing crafts with and for her kids.
