Each month, the Disney Parks Blog share some Best Bites, highlighting what’s new and fun in food at Walt Disney World and the Disneyland Resort. The items aren’t always new, but they’re always delicious!




Starting at the Disneyland Resort, several of the hotel restaurants have received updates over the last few weeks.

Most recently, Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill at the Disneyland Hotel reopened, with a brand new menu, updated decor, and an outdoor bar.



The new Fried Spam Musubi and Shipwreck Nachos join the classic Panko-crusted Long Beans on the menu.

With the Tangaroa Terrace kitchen reopened, Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar now has a full menu again, which it shares with Tangaroa Terrace.

In addition to the new food items, Sam has two new cocktails to wash it down. The Tangaroa Cooler is made with gin, almond syrup, falernum, angostura bitters, grapefruit juice, and lemon juice. The shareable Sea Monster’s Embrace has dark rums, gin, brandy, passion fruit, falernum, lime juice, orange juice, and pineapple juice. The drinks are also available at Tangaroa Terrace.

Finally at Disneyland, late last month, White Water Snacks at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa reopened with a new menu of its own.

It addition to the nachos and artisanal pizzas, look for new fresh sandwiches and skewers.

Along with the new menus, the Mobile Order feature has been expanded to both White Water Snacks and Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill.


Moving over to Walt Disney World, the Disney Parks Blog heads to Disney’s All-Star Music Resort to highlight the popular Lasagna-Pasticcio.



Served at the Intermission Food Court, the dish comes with baked layers of stracciatella, bolognese sauce, pasta, and bechamel sauce, all topped with house-made pomodoro sauce and served with a breadstick.

Next the Parks Blog features the Pan-seared Georges Bank Day Boat Scallops from Narcoossee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

The exquisite dish is served with house-made Parisian gnocchi, shiitake mushrooms, fall pumpkin, brown butter-truffle cream sauce, shaved black truffles, and fried sage.

Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Backlot Express has a new menu.



The classic Backlot Burger comes topped with barbecued pork and pepper jack cheese. The traditional Cuban Sandwich is pressed and filled with pulled pork, sliced ham, swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard.

For something filling, try the Chicken and Biscuits smothered in country gravy and topped with spicy strawberry glaze and crumbled bacon.

On the light side, the Southwest Salad has mixed greens, crispy wonton, black been relish, and avocado all tossed in a vinaigrette. Add grilled chicken breast to make it a bit more substantial.

For dessert grab the Key Lime Verrine made with layers of key lime custard and graham cracker, topped with whipped cream.

Elsewhere in Hollywood Studios, the ABC Commissary has a brand new Apple Tart dessert and BaseLine Tap House has a new souvenir pint glass.

At Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Capt. Cook’s has some new items on their menu.

The Turkey Club Melt is made with roasted turkey, bacon, tomato, havarti cheese and a sun-dried tomato mayo on multigrain bread. The Plant-based Burger comes with arugula and roasted pepper-tomato chutney and a brioche bun.

New salads include an Asian-style Grilled Chicken salad with rice noodles and mandarin oranges, a classic Iceberg Wedge with blue cheese, and a Tuna Salad with mixed kale greets and citrus dressing.

The new Chicken Wings are tossed in your choice of Hawaiian tamarind, Korean barbecue, Parmesan black pepper, or Buffalo sauce.

There are also two new flatbreads. The Morning Flatbread comes with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and sausage gravy. The Seafood Flatbread has shrimp, scallops, calamari, and creamy lobster tomato sauce.

Finally, we hit the new lunch menu at Banana Cabana in Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.

Start with an appetizer of Jerk Chicken Wings, Chili Con Queso, and Loaded Sweet Potato Fries.

New salads include a Chilled Seafood Salad with conch, shrimp and crab, or Sebastian’s Salad with avocado, red pepper and black beans.

Sandwiches include the Bacon Cheddar Cheeseburger, Jerk Chicken Sandwich, Smoked Turkey Sandwich, or the Caribbean-style cheesesteak made with beef brisket and smoked gouda on a Cuban roll.

The new kids menu includes mac & cheese, cheeseburger, and smoked turkey sandwich.
