Guests planning transportation between Orlando International Airport and Walt Disney World Resort will want to note a slight price change. Mears Connect has announced that a 3% fuel surcharge will now be added to all reservations until further notice.
The update was shared on the company’s website and applies to all new and existing bookings. While the increase is relatively modest, it reflects a broader trend across the travel industry as companies respond to rising fuel costs.
Mears Connect currently operates as one of the primary transportation options for guests traveling between the airport and Walt Disney World Resort hotels. The service became especially relevant after Disney discontinued Disney’s Magical Express, which had previously offered complimentary transfers for resort guests.
Since that change, travelers have needed to plan and pay for their airport transportation separately, with Mears Connect positioning itself as a familiar alternative. The company uses a similar motorcoach-style service, offering both standard and express options depending on guest preference.
The addition of a fuel surcharge is not entirely unexpected. Gas prices have remained volatile across the country, and many transportation providers have introduced similar adjustments to offset operating costs.
For guests, the 3% increase is unlikely to dramatically impact the overall cost of a Disney vacation, but it is another reminder to factor in transportation expenses when budgeting for a trip.
As always, travelers may want to compare options, including rideshare services, rental cars, and other shuttle providers, to determine what works best for their plans and budget.
For now, the surcharge remains in place indefinitely, with no announced end date.
