New ‘The Lion King’ Food Offerings Coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is introducing a jungle-full of new treats beginning this Friday to celebrate the upcoming release of Disney’s The Lion King “live-action” remake. Unless otherwise noted, all of these items will be available May 24th through the end of summer.

Simba Ice Cream Sandwich (Tamu Tamu) – Vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two chocolate chip cookies and decorated with chocolate tail and an image of Simba


Simba’s Sunset Dole Whip (Tamu Tamu) – Pineapple Dole Whip topped with red syrup made up of watermelon and coconut


King’s Cooler (Tamu Tamu) – Pineapple Dole Whip with rum topped with red syrup made up of watermelon and coconut

Asante Slush (Shave Ice Cart near Harambe Market) – Shaved ice topped with watermelon and passion fruit-mango syrup


Serengeti Sangria (Dawa Bar, Harambe Market, Boneyard Bar) – Red sangria


Bugs ‘n Grub Waffle Cone (Anadapur Bus, Trilo-Bites) – Chocolate soft-serve ice cream in a green cone with cookies and cream “dirt” crumbles, gummy worms, and a chocolate beetle


The Lion King Novelty Sipper and Popcorn Bucket (various locations) – Available later this summer while supplies last


The Lion King Latte Art (Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co.) – Special latte art featuring Simba

Lion’s Latte (Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co.) – Hot or iced latte with white chocolate and coconut and featuring Joffrey’s “Flavors of Africa” artisan roast coffee from Kenya


Simba Cupcake (Pizzafari) – Yellow vanilla cupcake filled with white chocolate mousse and topped with buttercream, an edible piece featuring Simba, and a fierce mane of orange and yellow icing


Simba and Nala Waffles (Tusker House) – Kid’s waffles featuring Simba and Nala; now available at breakfast


In addition, don’t forget about Circle of Flavors: Harambe at Night, a new limited-dining experience happening Wednesday nights throughout the summer, or the new Lion King-themed dining experience at Jiko – The Cooking Place inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.
