There are so many Disney moments that feel extra meaningful, and this one definitely falls into that category.
In celebration of National Teacher Appreciation Week, 15 educators from across the country were honored at Walt Disney World Resort with a pretty unforgettable experience, including serving as honorary grand marshals in a parade down Main Street, U.S.A. at Magic Kingdom. If you’ve ever watched a parade roll through the park, you know that spot at the front is a big deal, and this time, it belonged to teachers.

The parade was part of a larger weekend tied to Disney Imagination Campus and a special collaboration with ABC’s Abbott Elementary. The group included elementary, middle, and high school teachers, all selected from thousands of entries in the 2026 Disney Teachers Sweepstakes.
And Disney didn’t just stop at a parade moment.
The celebration stretched across several days, giving these educators a chance to experience the parks in a different way. They took part in sessions led by Disney leaders, explored the behind-the-scenes side of Disney Imagination Campus workshops, and connected with other teachers from around the country. Those workshops focus on everything from performing arts to science, technology, leadership, and innovation, all with the goal of bringing fresh ideas back into the classroom.
There was also a full lineup of memorable extras, including a four-day, three-night stay at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, a special evening reception, and even a private fireworks viewing.

One of the biggest takeaways from the weekend goes beyond the parks. Through a partnership with General Motors and the nonprofit DonorsChoose, $150,000 in grants will be distributed to help support STEAM-related classroom projects. The idea is simple but impactful. These teachers get to take what they experienced and pass it along, helping create new opportunities for students back home.
It’s sometimes easy to get caught up in rides and new attractions, but moments like this are a good reminder of what Disney does really well. It shines a spotlight on people who make a difference in the world and gives them a stage that feels just as magical as the parks themselves.
