Walt Disney World Makes Adjustments for Monday’s Eclipse

In light of Monday’s solar eclipse, Walt Disney World has made a few adjustments to its schedule. The eclipse is expected to be visible in Central Florida from around 1:15pm to 4:30pm.

At the Magic Kingdom, Tom Sawyer Island will close at 2:00pm and won’t reopen. The 2:00pm Festival of Fantasy Parade will be presented as scheduled and no other changes are anticipated.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom will temporarily close its animal trails prior to the eclipse. The trails are expected to reopen when light allows.

There are no adjustment scheduled at either Epcot or Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Over the water parks, Blizzard Beach will close attractions as necessary based on light levels, but will have entertainment at the beach area, with additional lighting as needed. Blizzard Beach will also offer a direct Disney Transportation bus to Typhoon Lagoon, which will operate as normal with its nighttime lights. The bus will be available 1:30pm to 2:45pm.

At the resorts, the marina at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will be closed on Monday, but will reopen as scheduled on Tuesday.

No other closures are anticipated.
