Disney’s Walk Around the World to Be Retired, Commemorative Bricks Available for Purchase

As Walt Disney World continues to reconfigure theme park entrances, walkways, and security screening stations, it has become necessary to remove Disney’s Walk Around the World. The personalized hexagonal bricks will be removed in phases, with those near the Magic Kingdom and the Transportation and Ticket Center going away soon. Polynesian’s ‘Shades of Green’ Walkway Closing for Construction

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort closed the Shades of Green walkway on March 15th for construction. Construction work began yesterday and will take place between 9am-6pm. The construction area will have signage near the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), Great Ceremonial House, and the crossway of Floridian Way. Change in Security Coming April 3 to the Magic Kingdom

According to the Orlando Sentinel, starting April 3, 2017, guests parking at the Magic Kingdom parking lot will “go through metal detectors and get bags checked at the Transportation and Ticket Center.” The Ticket and Transportation Center (or the TTC) is the hub at which guests arriving by car have transportation options to access the Change in Security Coming April 3 to the Magic Kingdom
