Hey howdy hey! Welcome to another curated list of vintage goodies from yours truly.
Let’s go wild for Disney’s Animal Kingdom today, as they just celebrated their 27th birthday on Earth Day! We’re taking it back to collectibles and wearables featuring the park’s original icon, featuring the long-lost dragon front and center, and a Triceratops which is about to be extinct at the park with the imminent removal of DinoLand. With more and more merchandise with the new park logo at today’s gift shops, these harder-to-find Animal Kingdom treasures would make some mighty fine gift ideas for your fellow vintage-loving friend, or can make your next Disney World vacation wardrobe pop off! Some of these items have been sitting in my eBay watchlist, while other rarities have recently cropped up and probably won’t last long… if I don’t *add to cart*, that is. Let’s dive in!
This Animal Kingdom OPENING CREW embroidered denim jacket is just beautiful. It’s priced pretty reasonably, given the exclusivity and good shape it’s in. Plus, it features plenty of those quality embroidered details on the back and the front!
Available HERE | $175
Show off your love for Kilimanjaro Safaris with these classic Mickey Mouse-post earrings. These are fit for any Disney date. Plus, the classic backer card featuring the old logo is included in this listing! It’s the little things, you know?
Available HERE | $29.98
Remember when Mattel created Disney Parks-exclusive Barbie dolls? The 1996 WDW 25th anniversary doll forever lives on in my memory, but I had no idea they created one especially for Animal Kingdom! The packaging alone is glorious, but I can’t get over her shirt including the old logo and sprinkled with safari animals. Can they sell this top in real life, please?
Available HERE | $31.52
Last up for today is this engraved wooden box featuring the park’s original logo. Lined with green velvet, this is lovely for safekeeping some of your vintage parks jewelry (see above) or watches.
Available HERE | $25
I hope you enjoyed this week’s selection of vintage Animal Kingdom merch! Let me know if you’d like to see anything specific next time around and I’ll include them in my weekly searches. And remember… Nahtazu!
