Checking Out the Gingerbread Carousel at Disney’s Beach Club

Continuing on our gingerbread journey through Walt Disney World’s Deluxe Resorts (peep our previous stops at the Grand Floridian, Contemporary, and Boardwalk) let’s head over to Disney’s Beach Club Resort!

The Beach Club is just one year behind the Grand Floridian’s 25-year long gingerbread tradition. Once again this year, the Beach Club is home to the spinning life-size carousel gingerbread display. This year’s version depicts scenes from Mickey’s Christmas Carol, made by the Yacht & Beach Bakery team.

You’ll want to hang around the lobby to take in the fresh gingerbread scent and the smallest of details that are hand-painted and sculpted on each horse.

The carousel is made from an impressive blend of ingredients: 432 pounds of honey, 200 pounds of icing, 100 pounds of eggs, and 2,024 pieces of gingerbread. Hand-painted characters and carefully-crafted gingerbread shingles and snowflakes embellish the scenes. And, of course, 24 golden “hidden” Mickeys can be found throughout the display.

If you’d like to take a piece of the holiday magic home with you, there are limited-edition souvenirs available, including a pin, a cookie jar, and a holiday ornament.

You can also pick up some festive treats from the nearby walk-up gingerbread counter in the lobby.
