Christmas at the Contemporary Resort in Walt Disney World

I love visiting the resorts and theme parks as they start celebrating the Christmas holidays. I visited the castle gingerbread display in the Contemporary Resort today. You might want to dine at Steakhouse 71 or Chef Mickey’s before you visit the monorail resorts for their Christmas displays. We had a great breakfast at Steakhouse 71!

The 13th Contemporary castle display is located on the 4th floor. It is said the display was inspired by the Cinderella Castle Dream Lights. The display is over 17 feet tall and 25 feet wide.

They used the following ingredients to build this castle display:

613 pounds of sugar

1,013 pounds of flour

113 pounds of gingerbread spice

51 pounds of chocolate.

You can search for the 13 hidden Mickeys, and there is even a 5-legged goat hidden in the display. You can also purchase a cookie jar, holiday ornament, and limited-edition pins. Be sure to leave some room to purchase some sweet treats next to the display.

  • Linzer Cookie
  • Caramel Apple Cake with Gingerbread Streusel
  • Chocolate Hazelnut Log
  • Pistachio Cranberry and Cherry Cake
  • Santa Peppermint Hot Chocolate Tart
  • House-made Christmas Tree Butter Cookie
  • Winter Berry Freeze (Alcoholic floater available)
  • Frozen Hot Cocoa (Alcoholic floater available)

The best way to reach the displays at the Grand Floridian and the Contemporary is to take the resort monorail from the Ticket and Transportation Center.

Just a reminder, it isn’t too late to visit Walt Disney World for the holiday displays and celebrations!
