Today marks the the permanent closure of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, and a new guidemap has debuted at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, reflecting the latest changes around the park and offering a look at what’s arriving later this summer.
The updated map officially removed the high-speed, inverting coaster’s Aerosmith inclusion. The attraction has also disappeared from the My Disney Experience app, and on the physical map, the end of Sunset Boulevard now reads: “Future home of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.” The reimagined version of the indoor launch coaster is set to open this summer.

The cover of the new guidemap features Chewbacca posing with a family in front of Millennium Falcon : Smugglers Run – which is lined up for a new mission starring the Mandalorian and Grogu, beginning May 22nd.

Inside, the “Let Your Adventure Begin” section still highlights Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After and The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure as “NEW!” offerings. The page also spotlights Fantasmic!, the My Disney Experience app, Roundup Rodeo BBQ, and several shopping locations.

Over in Animation Courtyard, the map now clearly marks the area as the “Future home of Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!” The show (which was originally introduced at Disney California Adventure) will debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios this summer alongside a refreshed courtyard inspired by the Walt Disney Studios lot. The reimagined space will also include The Magic of Disney Animation.

A few more additions have appeared in the map’s artwork, including Toy Story Land’s new snack kiosk and additional seating has been added in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

A Farewell to Aerosmith
For many fans, the closure of the Aerosmith version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster hits hard. Since opening in 1999, from the moment you stepped into the recording studio with Aerosmith, you were on your way to a backstage pass fantasy set to some of the band’s biggest hits.

Riders could hear different song tracks, including “Walk This Way,” “Sweet Emotion,” “Back in the Saddle,” “Dude (Looks Like a Lady),” and “Love in an Elevator,” blasting through the speakers as the super-stretch limo launched from 0 to 57 mph in seconds and raced through the dark Los Angeles freeway.

— So long, boys.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is scheduled open this summer. The loops and launch are here to stay, with the reimagining focused on a new storyline and characters featuring The Muppets.

With a refreshed Animation Courtyard, a new Disney Jr. show, and a Muppets coaster on the way, this summer is shaping up to be a big one for the park. Are you planning a visit?
