If you are settling into your Disney resort for a magical Easter weekend, we have a few tips to make it even more enchanting. Traveling over the holidays can be difficult with young kids, and keeping the magic alive is becoming increasingly difficult in modern times. If you are trying to recreate some of those magical moments we experienced as kids, there are a few little tricks you can use to make those moments happen even while in close quarters with those curious little ones!
Book Something Special To Celebrate
Easter is a fantastic time to book a special celebration meal that might be a little unconventional. While other families are booking a lunch or dinner service to mark the occasion, switch things up with something even better. High Tea at The Cake Bake Shop is a gorgeous experience for the family, with all the elegance that you might be looking for to celebrate Easter. If you are looking for something a little less expensive, try a brunch booking in Disney Springs at Summer House, Homecomin’, Terralina, or The BOATHOUSE, to name a few.
The Easter Bunny Visits While Families Visit the Pool
I don’t know about you, but in our family, it’s long been known that when traveling on holidays, the Easter Bunny likes to make things a bit easier for families by visiting while they are out during the day instead of through the night. The Easter Bunny doesn’t like waking anyone up too early in those small rooms, so he is more likely to visit while your family is out for a little while. Once the family is settled at breakfast, the pool, or even on their way to queue for the bus, do a quick double back to… “make sure that everything is neat and tidy for the Easter Bunny” to drop by and leave those sweet treats or egg hunt… without little eyes watching. When you return, let the kids lead the way in case a pleasant surprise has arrived for them!
Get Some Easter Family Photos
Trade in those Mickey Mouse Ear Headbands for some bunny ears and take advantage of those Walt Disney World photographers to get everyone in a family photo. Pull out those lightweight bunny ears from your backpack whenever you see a photographer nearby, and get all the family photos with your seasonal accessories in full view. It’s a fun way to remember the occasion for more than just a Disney vacation and will set you apart from the rest! Be sure to ask if there are any Easter Magic Shots available in that area when you visit.
Enjoy the Egg-stravaganza Scavenger Hunt at EPCOT
As part of the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, guests can enjoy taking part in the Egg-stravaganza! This popular {limited-time} activity is a scavenger hunt where guests can search for special hidden “eggs” themed to Disney characters and record their discoveries by placing the corresponding sticker on the specially themed map to represent that location. Maps and stickers can be purchased at select merchandise locations throughout the park. When you find all of the “eggs” and complete your scavenger hunt map, you then return it to Disney Traders, Creations Shop, or World Traveler for a sp-egg-tacular surprise.
Have An Easter Picnic
If you have a free afternoon, stop by one of the delightful bakeries, sweet shops, or take-away stops and create a special little picnic for yourselves. There are many beautiful locations to take advantage of around your Disney resort, and some fresh air and sunshine might be just what your families need to have an hour of connection time away from the hustle and bustle of the parks. Grab a couple of pool towels and find a shady spot. Enjoy your picnic treats and bring along any of those plush friends that are too big to come to the parks but simply had to be brought along for the ride to your Disney resort. Wear those dress-ups that are too restrictive to wear in the parks and have a photo shoot while you are there. Grab some bubbles and take advantage of the light to get some creative and unique shots in the sunshine. If one of the adults needs to run back quickly to check on something in the room (aka, create an opportunity to do secret things without anyone seeing), the kids will be well occupied while waiting.
