A new rumor that’s going around online is that Disney is removing “Do Not Disturb” signs from their resort hotels beginning with the ones around the Magic Kingdom monorail loop at Walt Disney World.
Although we do not have confirmation of this from Disney, our posters on DISBoards.com have a lot to say about it. Here are just a few points that folks have brought up so far:
“Hmm I’m all about safety. I’m not about someone entering my room whenever they want to” says poster ‘Mackenzie Click-Mickelson‘ wondering if housekeeping will search guests’ belongings when they come in.
Poster ‘Tigger’s ally‘ brings up an interesting point saying, “…they also can now look at your magic band. When was the last time you opened the door and are you in a park right now, etc.”
There is quite a bit of speculation that this new “policy” could be coming due to the massive shooting that happened earlier this year at a Las Vegas hotel when multiple automatic weapons along with ammunition were found in the gunman’s room.
Something else to think about was brought up by poster ‘skier_Pete‘ who said, “…as a country if we are not willing to be flexible about our rights to bear arms, we will have to give up OTHER rights to stay safe… Disney has the right to go through your bag to enter the park, they can easily as well tell you they have the right to look through your things in your hotel room.”
Poster ‘MaryLovesPoohBear‘ wonders how things would be at the Disney Vacation Club Resorts and says, “That will be interesting since all three resorts have a DVC component. Housekeeping doesn’t come every day for those rooms.”
